Make a Dream Come True
As important as treatment is in the management of the disease of leukemia, it's also equally important to make families and patients alike as comfortable as possible--and to provide glimmers of sunshine and a break from the rigors of the hospital routine. Our "Make A Dream Come True" program endeavors to do exactly that. The program--just one component of our family services is designed to fulfill the dreams and wishes of young leukemia patients, both by answering their individual desires, and by arranging trips, outings, and private introductions that fulfill dreams common to children of all ages.
Our accomplishments have been as broad as they are bold. We have arranged for children to meet sports stars, tour television studios and production sets, meet celebrities, and visit dream destinations such as Disney World--in addition to individual dream fulfillment in response to requests.
Just this month, we conducted a group to "Disney Odyssey", taking families of young leukemia patients ranging in age from two to ten on a five-day trip to Mickey's happy home in Orlando. If you could have seen the joy in the children's eyes, or witnessed the renewed vitality in parents who otherwise are forced to spend long days and nights in hospital vigils, you would realize why this program is so important to us. It's only through your continued support that we can grant the wishes of these children--that we can continue to fulfill the dreams of the brave youngsters who have already endured more than most of us suffer in a lifetime.
Make a Dream Come True Having a dream fulfilled is magical for a child and is the most joyful occasion of her/his life. For a child's parents, these are times they will never forget. Celebrities, sports stars, and child actors shift around their schedules to meet an ailing child. At Make-A-Dream-Come-True, we work around the clock to
